Full Description:
Vanderbilt Legal Aid Society is a student-run organization at the Vanderbilt University Law School that raises money all year to create Public Interest Summer Stipends. Public Interest organizations provide free legal services to people who can't afford them. There are many law students who want to work in a Public Interest organization each summer. Unfortunately, however, these organizations can't afford to pay their summer interns. Do you think everyone should have access to legal services? Do you think lawyers should be encouraged to serve their communities?
FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO HELP: Buy a $5 ticket to the Parisian "Celebrate Education" sale. The sale will be on Saturday, February 26 from 10 am - 9pm, and almost everything will be 20% off. The Vanderbilt Legal Aid Society will get the $5 and put it towards Summer Stipends. Email rebecca.k.atkins@vanderbilt.edu if you're interested.
SECOND OPPORTUNITY TO HELP: The Vanderbilt Legal Aid Society hosts an auction every year. All of the proceeds will go towards the Summer Stipends. But first, we need items to auction off. If you own a business and would like to donate an item or a gift certificate, we need your help! All donations are tax deductible and your business will be published in the Donation Guide at the Auction. Email rebecca.k.atkins@vanderbilt.edu if you're interested.
